Broiler production -Enviroserv


Broiler production Project is situated at Eloff on Hygro’s head office premises and consist of a fully equipped Broiler house (chicken house) where small chickens are raised in an ideal and scheduled environment, and then sold. There is also a classroom that host fifteen students at a time receiving accredited training in broiler production while working practically in the broiler house under supervision of a traind facilitator.
Hydroponic Project - Exxaro Leewpan
The project is situated at Boschpoort and consist of twelve fully equipped hydroponic tunnels, storage facility and training office. The beneficiaries on site have already completed a great deal of theoretical training and have the certificates to proof it, thy have also learned how to do most of the tasks on site themselves.
Aimed at helping Boschpoort and surrounding community’s beat poverty!

Short CoursesHygro has accreditation for numerous short courses ranging from soil preparation to intensive farming systems like hydroponics and grape vine production. Hygro has also accreditation in short courses such as occupational health and safety, accounting and business management.

Hydroponic Project - Exxaro New Clydesdale Coal The project is situated at New Clydesdale Colliery mine property and consist of four fully equipped hydroponic tunnels, storage facilities and a classroom that can host up to fifteen students at a time, The course runs for one planting season lasting plus-minus six months, from planting the seedlings to harvesting the tomatoes, which forms the perfect environment for young and upcoming farmers to learn and expand their knowledge not only theoretically but also practically with trained professionals guiding them each step of the way.
AgriSeta Excellent Awards 2011AgriSeta Excellent Awards 2011 On 14 September 2011 the AgriSeta held their Annual General Meeting including their 2nd excellent award ceremony. Throughout the year the AgriSeta's pannel assessed students that were nominated under different categories. On the award ceremony the winners of each category were pronounced. Hygro nominated Dineo Sekgobela (a 2nd year student of our young farmers development programme learnership plant production NQF Level 1-4) for the category best performing student: learnerships. Dineo won the category and received R10 000-00 prize money which she wants to spend to further her studies.
